SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a food composition used in a method of treating metabolic syndrome. Composition contains chrome in amount of 4.5 to 61 mcg per dose of the composition and as the sole amino acid source leucine, isoleucine, valine, threonine and lysine in total amount of 1.75 to 3.5 g per dose of the composition. Disclosed is a product capable of reducing postprandial glycemia and postprandial secretion of insulin containing said composition. Method for treating, controlling or preventing diseases or conditions associated with metabolic syndrome, involves administering to a subject or consuming five amino acids and chromium in the form of said composition or in the form of a product.
EFFECT: invention enables reducing postprandial glycemia, as well as postprandial secretion of insulin.
