FIELD: fire safety.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to prevention of fire and fire containment and can be used to prevent fire on ground vehicle in emergency situations. Ground vehicle fuel tank comprises cover with sealant, is equipped with gas jacket isolated from atmosphere by tight plug formed by double walls with perforated holes in upper part and volume of fuel tank, fixed to the tank lid, connected by the pneumatic system through the membrane-type pneumoelectric pressure sensor with normally closed contacts of the control unit, differential and shut-off valves with an inert gas cylinder, and an electrical circuit through a signal amplifier and a start relay with an actuating mechanism of the inert gas supply valve and a mechanism for closing a hole in the tank, having an outer shell of elastic fuel-resistant material, reinforced with T-metal metal rods, coiled, spring-loaded and provided with retainer of its initial position on outer surface of tank, and means for sealing joint between elastic shell and tank, having sealing compound arranged in joint area, plate equipped with electromechanical drive to seal joint.

EFFECT: improving operating reliability of fuel tank under conditions of impact of factors causing explosion of fuel-air mixture and ignition of fuel at flow from the hole.
