FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: proposed device relates to the field of electric engineering, namely to the technological tool for preparation of wires or cables for installation, and can be used in electric, radio engineering and instrument making industries. Claimed universal manual electric tool for removal of insulation from wires consists of two pivotally connected levers. Each lever on one side to the axis of rotation is made in the form of a sponge containing a conductive knife, and on the other side in the form of a handle coated with electrically insulating material. A spring is installed between the handles. Sponges in area of current conductive knives arrangement contain insert from electrically insulating material. Limiting projection is arranged on first handle inner surface. On inner surface of second handle there is a cutout for limiting ledge of first handle. Inside the second handle there is an electric accumulator, a control unit, an electric connector and a linear electromechanical drive. One of the surfaces of the core of the linear electromechanical drive forms an angle with the axis of its movement and is made relief. Levers have channels for wires, through which one terminal of electric accumulator is connected to one current-conducting knife, and the other output is connected through control unit and linear electromechanical drive to another current-conducting knife.

EFFECT: universality of the tool, which consists in possibility of its use for cleaning of wires with wide range of sizes of conductor cross-sections, as well as in case when wire marking is absent or does not correspond to cross-section.
