DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUE FOR REGIONAL BLOOD FLOW OF TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT IN PERIODONTAL DISEASE Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61B8/06

Abstract RU 2742255 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to dentistry, and can be used for diagnosis of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders in periodontal diseases. For this purpose, by triplex scanning in colour Doppler imaging mode, the dimensions of an articular slit are first measured by the TMJ. Areas of superficial temporal and external carotid arteries are examined. Anatomical position of the vessels and the blood flow direction are determined with measuring the maximum linear systolic speed, peripheral resistance index and resistance index. If the size of the joint of the TMJ, with the normal values of the maximum linear systolic velocity, the peripheral resistance index and the resistance index in the external carotid artery region, also at increase of maximum linear systolic speed and at deviation of values of indices of resistance and resistance in area of superficial temporal artery conclusion on presence of disturbances in the patient’s TMJ area is made.

EFFECT: invention provides detecting a TMJ in periodontal diseases.
