SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of testing liquid hydrocarbons flow meters. In method of checking flow meters inside calibrated volume there is a bus with optical sensors, movement of the piston is provided along the optical bus and the volume of the calibrated section is determined based on the position of the piston at each moment of time, which is fixed on the position of the mating part of the optical sensor located inside the piston on the surface, which is responsive to the optical bus; calculated volume of calibrated section is considered to correspond to volume of liquid passing through calibrated (verified) flow converter in same time unit; synchronizing by time the signal from the optical bus position sensor with the sensor parameters of the flow meter, changing the time interval (increasing or decreasing it) and typing a plurality of pairs of matches of the position of the piston (calibrated volume) and the signal value of the flow meter (verified volume) per each passage of the piston through the optical bus. Also disclosed is a device for checking flow meters of liquid hydrocarbons, comprising a cylindrical container with inlet and outlet nozzles, inside which there is a piston with free travel, made with possibility of movement from one position to the opposite one with possibility of fixation of said positions by sensors. Inside the calibrated volume of the cylindrical container the piston displacement limiters are installed, which is fixed on the shaft with the possibility of free movement along it, and along the shaft between the limiters optical sensors are installed, and inside the piston there is an optical sensor.
EFFECT: technical result is possibility to increase accuracy of flow meter verification and accelerate calibration process.
