FIELD: meteorology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to meteorology and can be used to measure wind speed and direction at altitudes of 60-120 km. At the tracking station, navigation signals from microsatellites are received at the final stage of descent and their navigation coordinates are continuously recorded: latitude, altitude and longitude. Obtained coordinates are compared with calculated ones. Deviation of the obtained coordinates from the calculated ones is used to determine the wind speed and direction in the horizontal-vertical profile of the ionosphere.
EFFECT: measurement of wind speed and direction at altitudes of 60-120 km.
