METHOD OF VAGINAL CLOSURE FOLLOWING A VAGINAL HYSTERECTOMY Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61B17/42 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to gynecology. Uterine ligamentous apparatus and the vaginal mucosa are closed. Suturing is carried out with the help of two absorbable sutures; the length of their short arms is no more than 1/4 of the length of the threads, the peritoneum is closed with short arms of the sutures, after which the short shoulders of the sutures are connected to each other, and the remaining parts of the short arms of the sutures are cut off. Then round ligament of uterus is sutured with long shoulders of sutures with their further introduction into vagina, for which to right and left side vaginal walls at level of wound length are sutured through from inside to outside at distance of 10 mm from edge of wound. Then the wound upper thread is closed with the left suture with a sutured suture with a suture interval of 6-8 mm with approaching the upper angle of the wound, after which the suture is returned to the initial level with a second suture line with a suture interval of 10-15 mm. Then, the right filament is sutured from the inside to the lower angle of the wound and pulled to the lower edge of the wound sutured part, after which the sutures are connected to each other, then with the right suture, the right and left halves of the non-wound part of the wound are serially closed with a sutured suture, and the suture is fixed by tying the sutures together.

EFFECT: method enables reducing a risk of genital prolapse in a remote postoperative period, a risk of postoperative suppurative complications, as well as preserving the quality of sexual life.
