FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: method for production of solid urea by granulation is characterized by that urea melt is fed for granulation with concentration of more than 98 wt %, in which formaldehyde is not added to obtain a homogeneous structure of the granule by eliminating water evaporation which causes porosity in the inner layers of the granule. Plant for production of solid urea in form of granules, which operates in compliance with this method. Hard urea in form of granules, free from formaldehyde, obtained by the present method. Method of plant modernization for production of solid urea, including a prilling section for producing solid urea by prilling highly concentrated urea melt, during implementation of which granulation section is installed and supply of at least part of urea melt, which is originally intended for prilling section, into said granulation section.
EFFECT: invention increases quality of solid urea, particularly with respect to its purity and mechanical strength.
