FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for solidifying a chemical product in form of a melt to obtain a solid product in form of prils or granules. In particular, the invention relates to the field of production of solid urea. The claim describes a method for solidifying a chemical product in form of a melt, upon implementation whereof: the first stream of the chemical product is prilled resulting in prils of various diameters; the prils are supplied to a sorting apparatus and therein divided by diameter into at least a first fraction and a second fraction, wherein the average diameter of prils of the first fraction is less than the average diameter of prils of the second fraction, the second stream of the chemical product and the first pril fraction are granulated, producing granules.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain a solid product with improved characteristics in terms of dimensions and mechanical strength compared to the product obtained by typical methods.
