FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of manufacture of expanded thermoplastic polymers (eTP). The technical result is achieved through a method including a stage of producing non-expanded thermoplastic polymer (TP) and then locating the thermoplastic polymer in an autoclave. Said autoclave is partially filled with a liquid and the material does not come into contact with this liquid. After that the pressure in the autoclave is raised by supplying a gas fluid with the temperature in the autoclave lower than the melting temperature of the thermoplastic polymer. Following is a feeding stage to allow the non-expanded polymeric TP material to reach saturation. Then the expanded polymeric TP material is submerged into a liquid. After that the pressure in the autoclave is lowered so that the submerged polymeric TP material undergoes expansion forming eTP material.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is improved thermal control, use of preferably environmentally friendly foaming gases, elimination of anisotropy and blocking of eTP during reprocessing and shortened feeding stage.
