FIELD: gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for liquefying natural gas containing a mixture of hydrocarbons with predominant methane content. The method comprises the first semi-closed refrigeration cycle in which any condensed gas condensate liquids are being separated from the natural gas inlet flow and this flow passes through the main cryogenic heat exchanger (4) to contribute by heat exchange to the pre-cooling of the main flow (F-P) of natural gas and cooling of the initial flow (G-0) of refrigerant gas. Provided are also the second semi-closed refrigeration cycle contributing to the pre-cooling of natural gas and refrigerant gas as well as to the liquefaction of natural gas and a closed refrigeration cycle for refrigerant gas intended for the supercooling of liquefied natural gas and, in addition to the other two cycles for providing the required refrigeration capacity. The invention also proposes a unit for liquefying natural gas applicable to carrying out said process.
EFFECT: the technical result consists in reduction of energy consumption.
