FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydrometallurgical processing of acid-resistant uranium-containing materials, namely, industrial wastes formed as a result of oxidative processing of fuel elements of complex multicomponent composition. Method includes grinding of initial uranium-containing material in presence of ammonium bifluoride, treatment of obtained mechano-chemically activated charge with 1.5-4.0 M solution of nitric acid at S:L = 1:(3.5-4.5), temperature 80-90°C for 1.0-4.0 hours and completion of dissolution with residual acidity of not less than 0.25 M, then pulp is filtered and uranium is separated from filtrate by liquid phase counterflow extraction.
EFFECT: invention simplifies processing of uranium-containing materials, high degree of extraction of uranium into solution by more than 95%, environmental safety of production, as well as reduction of wastes and reduction of material costs for their utilization.
