FIELD: chemical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: present invention, in particular, relates to the use of thickening agents thus obtained for modifying the rheological characteristics of non-aqueous compositions, such as compositions containing an unsaturated complex polyester. The application describes the use of at least one additive based on a mixed mineral organoclay modifying the rheological characteristics which includes or consists of a mixture of mineral clays processed by quaternary alkylammonium salt obtained by producing an aqueous suspension of chormite clay (a), producing an aqueous suspension of smectite clay (b), combining the aqueous suspension of chormite clay (a) with an aqueous suspension of smectite clay (b) with obtaining a joint suspension of clays (c), processing of a joint suspension of clay (c) with one or more quaternary alkylammonium salts, separation of the mixture of mineral clays from the aqueous environment by the quaternary alkylammonium salt where the aqueous suspension of chormite clay (a) is produced by (i.1) dispersing a fraction of one or more chormite clays selected from a group comprising sepiolites and palygorskites, in an aqueous environment to produce dispersion, and an aqueous suspension of smectite clay (b) is produced by (ii.1) dispersing a fraction of one or more smectite clays in an aqueous environment to produce dispersion and where the mass content of chormite clay in the joint suspension of clays (c) exceeds the mass content of smectite clay (c); and dispersions obtained in stages (i.1) and (ii.1) are mixed at a high displacement rate prior to stage iii. and/or after stage iii; and where a fraction of one or more chormite clays used to produce an aqueous suspension of chormite clay (a) has integral width of the B peak reflection determined according to the reflection in the Miller indices (110) which equals to less than 0.800 units of scanning, according to the data of the powder X-ray obtained for a directed glycol sample of the fraction of chormite clay using Cu-Kα1 radiation in a liquid composition containing at least one unsaturated complex polyester.
EFFECT: the technical result of the invention consists in obtaining thickening agents for high viscosity liquid compositions with a specified amount of additives modifying the rheological characteristics.
