FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to systems for determining presence of an object. Method comprises receiving sensor data representing the surrounding SDC area in form of cloud data of three-dimensional points, generating, by MLA, based on cloud data of three-dimensional points, a set of feature vectors, representing surrounding area, formation, by means of MLA, representation in form of mesh of surrounding area, wherein each given presentation cell in the form of a grid includes a predicted distance parameter indicating the distance from the given cell to the nearest cell with the obstacle, and use, by the electronic device, of the distance parameter to determine the presence of an obstacle in the ambient area of the SDC.
EFFECT: technical result is faster detection of presence of object.
