FIELD: immunology.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to compositions for use in inducing oral tolerance and/or for use in treating and/or preventing allergy to cow milk protein. Inventions are based on the use of Bifidobacterium breve and 2–10 different peptides containing an amino acid sequence, consisting of 12–30 consecutive amino acids from the region encompassing amino acids 13 to 48 of the beta-lactoglobulin protein represented by SEQ ID NO: 1, to produce a composition for treating, preventing or reducing the risk of allergy to cow milk protein (CMA) in a patient.
EFFECT: invention enables to significantly reduce allergic reaction to cow milk when using a mixture of peptides with Bifidobacterium breve in comparison with their use separately; combined action of peptide mixture and Bifidobacterium breve reduces synthesis of cytokines induced by an allergen, and prevents development of stronger symptoms of anaphylactic shock.
