SUBSTANCE: food compositions for infants, in particular to milk mixtures for infants. Proposed food composition containing digestible carbohydrates, protein, lipid, urea and indigestible oligosaccharides, in which urea is present in an amount of a. at least 1.13 wt.%, preferably from 1.13 to 5.6 wt.% in terms of total protein, or b. at least 0.11 wt.%, preferably from 0.11 to 0.55 wt.% in terms of dry weight of the composition, or c. at least 15 mg, preferably 15 to 75 mg per 100 ml, and non-digestible oligosaccharides are present in an amount of d. at least 1.5 wt.%, preferably from 1.5 to 15 wt.%, calculated on the dry weight of the composition, or e. at least 0.2 g, preferably from 0.2 to 2 g per 100 ml wherein the food composition is a first level milk formula intended for infants aged 0 to 4-6 months, or a second level milk formula for infants 4-6 to 12 months of age, or a third level milk formula for infants aged from 12 to 36 months.

EFFECT: nutritional composition for infants containing a combination of urea and indigestible oligosaccharides for improved growth stimulation of Bifidobacteria in the intestinal microbiota.
