FIELD: oil drilling.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method and a system for controlling the installation of coiled tubing (CT) at the well site. The method implemented with the use of a computer for controlling the installation of coiled tubing at the site of a well having a wellbore includes: creating a coiled tubing model by a processing device for performing a coiled tubing operation; receiving borehole data with a processing device, the borehole data comprising surface data collected with at least a surface sensor at the well site and downhole data collected with at least a downhole sensor in the wellbore; generating by the processor a CT automated control plan for the CT installation based at least in part on the well data and the CT model; control of the CT installation using a processing device employing an automated CT control plan for running CT into the wellbore at the well site to a predetermined depth, waiting during a waiting period and pulling CT out of the wellbore; and adjusting the CT control plan by the processor based at least in part on the condition detected by the sensor during control of the CT unit. In the course of controlling the coiled tubing unit using an automated CT control plan, while running coiled tubing into the wellbore, a verification procedure is carried out, including: stopping the running of coiled tubing into the wellbore; moving coiled tubing in the opposite direction at a given distance; measurement of coiled tubing mass; and determining if the coiled tubing mass is consistent with the expected mass.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of the coiled tubing unit control.
