INDICATING A FAILURE RECEPTION USING A LEGACY MESSAGE Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC H04L1/16

Abstract RU 2744476 C1

FIELD: wireless communication systems.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication systems and is intended to provide a feedback mechanism for informing a transmitting station. First radio unit (20) receives the first radio transmission (101) from the second radio unit (10). In response to unsuccessful reception of the first radio transmission (101) by the first radio unit (20), the first radio unit (20) sends a second radio transmission (103) to the second radio unit (10). In response to unsuccessful reception of the first radio transmission (101) by the first radio unit (20), the first radio unit (20) sends a second radio transmission (103) to the second radio unit (10). The second radio transmission (103) contains an indication to the second radio unit (10) that the reception of the first radio transmission (101) by the first radio unit (20) was unsuccessful. First radio unit (20) generates a second radio transmission (103) so that it can be decoded by one or more other radio units (30) besides the second radio unit (10) as containing a positive acknowledgment message indicating to the second radio unit (10) that the first radio transmission (101) by the first radio unit was successful (20), either containing a send permission message for the second radio unit (10) or as some other legacy message supported by other radio unit(s) (30).

EFFECT: providing feedback on failed broadcasts without negatively impacting legacy devices.
