FIELD: copolymers.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a copolymer, an aqueous solution of a copolymer, a method for reducing the deposition of natural gum and adhesive contaminants on equipment for the production of pulp and paper, the use of a copolymer, the use of an aqueous solution of a copolymer. The copolymer contains at least one hydrophilic monomer and at least two hydrophobic monomers. The hydrophilic monomer is acrylic acid. The hydrophobic monomers are methylstyrene and styrene. Methylstyrene is present in an amount of at least 10 wt% of the total copolymer weight. The copolymer has a glass transition temperature Tg of at least 105°C. The copolymer is used to reduce the build-up of natural gum and adhesive contaminants on pulp and paper equipment. Application - Aqueous copolymer solution is used to reduce the build-up of natural gum and adhesive contaminants on pulp and paper equipment.
EFFECT: obtaining a copolymer containing at least one hydrophilic monomer and at least two hydrophobic monomers, and one of the hydrophobic monomers is methylstyrene, which is present in an amount of at least 10 wt% of the total copolymer weight.
