FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns hydrophilic adhesive polymers obtained by covalent or non-covalent linking, namely hydrogel and bioadhesive compositions incorporating one or more water-insoluble hydrophilic adhesive polymers, and applications of the said compositions in therapeutics, such as drug deliver systems, e.g. local, trasdermal, transmucous, iontophoretic, medical skin covering, wound healing bandages and biomedical electrodes, as well as cosmetic applications, such as tooth-whitening products. This task is accomplished by development of water-insoluble linked hydrophilic polymer obtained by polymerisation of composition of hydrophilic monomer and double-functionality monomer which both undergoes polymerisation with hydrophilic monomer as (a) and provides covalent links as (b) in the polymer where double-functionality monomer is a poly(alkylenoxide) molecule containing ca. 4-40 alkylenoxide units and substituted at each end by a reactive group liable to vinyl polymerisation.
EFFECT: development of molecular construction process for obtaining new hydrophilic glues.
