FIELD: sealing technology.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to sealing compositions for sealing punctures in pneumatic tyres and, in particular to particle-based sealing compositions introduced through the valve core for the temporary sealing of punctures at the far edge of the external shoulder of pneumatic tyres, in which the sealing efficiency is adjustable and begins to decrease after further travel of a certain distance. The inventive sealing composition for sealing a puncture in a pneumatic tyre comprises a liquid carrier, a latex in a quantity ranging from 0.5 to 6.0% according to the mass of the composition, a polysaccharide suspension agent and a granular material having a particle size of less than 300 mcm in which the liquid carrier contains one or more components selected from water, glycol and glycerine, and in which the polysaccharide suspension agent is selected from one or more: diutan gum, grewia gum or microfibrous cellulose. A method for sealing a puncture in a pneumatic tyre is also described.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improving the hydrodynamic characteristics inside the tyre chamber, increasing the stability and storage time and reducing the probability of closing the dosing equipment and the valve core.
