FIELD: aluminum production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing aluminum by electrolysis of an electrolyte in the form of a suspension of alumina in an aluminum melt. The method includes passing an electric current in the electrolyte between the cathode and the non-consumable anode, while creating a melt of an alumina suspension in an aluminum melt in a ratio of 40-45 wt. % of the volume of the combined bath and electrolysis is carried out at a melt temperature of 700-750°C and a constant current between the cathode and the non-consumable anode equal to 200 A, with the formation of a distributed cathode in the form of an aluminum melt in a bath with electrolyte, while bubbling the suspension in the bath with gaseous nitrogen to ensure a homogeneous distribution of alumina particles in the aluminum melt and adjust the composition of the electrolyte by supplying portions of alumina to the electrolyte to maintain the ratio Al2O3/Al = 2-40 wt. %.
EFFECT: simplification of the method for producing aluminum while increasing its environmental friendliness and safety.
