FIELD: cellular communication.
SUBSTANCE: terminal device transmits one random access preamble in multiple time periods and changes the transmission ray which will be used to transmit one random access preamble in one of the multiple time periods or in each of the multiple time periods, and monitors the response during random access for one random access preamble. The random access response includes first information for identification of any of the multiple time periods, information indicating any of the multiple time periods, which constitutes an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbol number.
EFFECT: efficient communication, reduced level of interference between cells and/or terminal devices.
