SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for making briquettes from an electrode mass, including filling the electrode mass heated to 60-140 °C into the hopper of a screw or piston auger press, heating the press, pressing and molding a briquette belt through a die, feeding the belt to a conveyor, cutting briquettes, cooling the belt and briquettes with water. The method is characterized by the fact that in the process of cutting and cooling briquettes, they are subjected to additional molding and prepressing at a temperature of 120-100 °C with a force of 1-10 kg/cm2, while cutting, additional molding and prepressing of briquettes are carried out on a conveyor belt. The invention also relates to a device.
EFFECT: proposed invention makes it possible to increase the strength of briquettes, as well as to increase the uniformity in weight and dimensions during their production.
