SUBSTANCE: invention relates to information technologies, namely, information collection systems. The method of collecting information from spaced information sources (sensors) includes connecting a fiber-optic cable to a coherent reflectometer, installing sound wave (or vibration) sources on the optical cable, generating an electrical signal corresponding to the transmitted information from each sensor, feeding this signal to the specified sound wave (or vibration) source, recognizing the said sound vibrations (or vibrations) by a coherent reflectometer.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to ensure the collection of information from multiple sources using a single optical fiber without direct access to the fiber (without cutting the optical cable).
