FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of powders for making hard alloys by powder metallurgy. Method for production of fine powder of refractory material includes supply of destructed electrode-anode from metal of obtained powder to surface of rotating indestructible electrode-cathode prior to occurrence of electric arc between electrodes with formation and spraying of melt under action of centrifugal forces to formation of fine-dispersed drops with their crystallisation at cooling in flight. Non-destructible electrode-cathode made in the form of a ring installed on the disc is subjected to rotation around its own axis with angular velocity ω1. Destructible electrode-anode made in the form of a rod is subjected to rotation with angular velocity ω2 in the same direction with nondestructible annular electrode-cathode. Axes of electrodes are located so that edge of boundary of zone of electric arc melt of metal of destructed electrode-anode coincides with external boundary of non-destructible annular electrode-cathode. Angular rotation speed ω1 non-destructible annular electrode-cathode is set in accordance with design ratio to ensure fine dispersion of particles of molten metal particles.
EFFECT: higher quality of powder by obtaining homogeneous particles with stable dimensions and shape and reduced heat losses due to limitation of electric arc power.
