FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended to produce fine powder of a refractory material. The method includes supplying a destructible electrode, made in the form of a rod from the material of the resulting powder, to the surface of a rotating indestructible electrode, made in the form of a ring, until an electric arc appears between the electrodes with the formation and spraying of a melt under the action of centrifugal forces until drops form; crystallization of droplets during cooling in flight. In this case, rotation in the same direction is imparted to the indestructible electrode around its own axis with angular velocity ω1, and to the destroyed electrode - with angular velocityω2. Moreover, the axes of the electrodes are positioned in such a way that the edge of the boundary of the zone of electric arc melt of the material of the destructible electrode coincides with the outer boundary of the indestructible electrode. In this case, the axis of the destructible electrode is inclined at an angle to the normal of the surface of the indestructible electrode at an angle α, deg., corresponding to the condition: 12≤ α ≤cos-1 Rp/Sn, where Rp is the radius of the destructible electrode, mm, Sn is the width of the ring of the indestructible electrode, mm.
EFFECT: uniformity of particle sizes is ensured, reducing the power consumed by the arc.
