FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly, to production of metal pellets. Pellets are produced by plasma melting and centrifugal spraying in fusing the end 7 of revolving blank 1 by plasma jet 3 from plasmatron 4 in atmosphere of inert gas or mix of gases. Plasmatron is mounted with its axis offset relative to blank revolution axis to allow uniform and complete heating of blank end. Torus-like rim 2 of melt is formed on blank edge wherefrom melt drops are torn off by gravity to get crystallised to make equal-size pellets.
EFFECT: more accurate sizes, higher yield.
