SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the energy industry. The method of testing the explosion-proofness of the shell of the valve-mixing device equipped with a flame arrester consists in organizing an explosion of the gas-air mixture and directing the blast wave to the valve-mixing device. In a cylindrical container, equivalent in volume to the combustion chamber of a pulsating combustion heat generator, an explosive gas-air mixture is formed by means of an injection burner, ignited for explosion with a spark plug and a blast wave is directed to the valve-mixing device, simultaneously in the zone of air supply from the atmosphere between the heat generator shell and the shell of the valve-mixing device by means of the second injection burner an explosive gas-air mixture is formed, the effectiveness of the flame arrester is determined by the ignition or non-combustion of this mixture.
EFFECT: fire safety of the pulsating combustion heat generator.
