FIELD: gyroscopic equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gyroscopic equipment, namely to methods for controlling the suspension of the rotor of an electrostatic gyroscope (ESG) used for high-precision measurements of the navigation parameters of moving objects. According to the method for controlling the suspension of the ESG rotor, the effect on the rotor of external acceleration by the suspension forces formed when a reference voltage is applied to a pair of electrodes installed on each axis of the suspension on opposite sides of the rotor, to which a voltage increment is added on one electrode, proportional to the external acceleration acting along this suspension axis, and on the other, opposite electrode, the voltage increment is subtracted. In this case, under conditions of a reduced level of external acceleration, the value of the reference voltage is reduced, and under conditions of an increased level, the value of the reference voltage is increased. The reference voltage is determined and set based on the following ratio: where is reference voltage, determined in space conditions; Uo is the reference voltage determined in the conditions of the Earth; ΔU is the voltage increment proportional to external acceleration in space conditions at the reference voltage Uo; is the safety factor for the increment of external acceleration under the same conditions of the gyroscope operation; Ao is the average value of external acceleration; Am is the maximum possible acceleration.
