SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computing technology. Disclosed is a computerized method for encoding a signal representing the content of a light field. According to the method, the content of the light field for at least one sensor pixel is obtained. The light perceived by the sensor pixel is represented by at least the first set of parameters. The content of the light field is encoded for at least one sensor pixel. There is the first set of parameters representing a ray of light perceived by the said pixel by grouping the respective parameters wherein the parameters from the first set of parameters are displayed on the sensor in such a way that they can appear as images and provide the second set of parameters for use in reconstructing the content of the light fields from the first set of parameters, as displayed on the sensor, wherein the second set of parameters at least contains parameters related to the plurality of rays of light falling on the plane used to obtain the first set of parameters.

EFFECT: invention provides encoding on the basis of transmitted parameters that are independent of the optical acquisition system used to collect the content of the light field to be transmitted and processed by the receiving device.
