FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to image processing and, in particular, to generation of data representing a light field. There are several types of film-optical devices having their own file format. At present, there is no standard supporting collection and transmission of multidimensional information for a comprehensive survey of various parameters on which the light field depends. Concept of a pixel beam is introduced, which represents the volume occupied by a set of light beams in the object space of the optical system of the camera. Method enables to provide data characterizing a group of pixel beams describing a first optical system, which is invariant, since these data are obtained by displaying a group of pixel beams through a second optical system. Such data, which characterize a group of pixel beams, enable generation of parameterised output images, on which post-processing can be performed.

EFFECT: providing support for collection and transmission of multidimensional information for a comprehensive survey of various parameters on which the light field depends, where the collected light field data for different cameras have a number of formats.
