FIELD: production of spherical powders.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of production of spherical powders according with water-dispersion technology. It is intended for the evaluation of the rheological characteristics of powder varnish in the phase of granule formation. The rheological characteristics of the polymer powder varnish are determined on a tripod penetrometer. The entire measuring system is immersed in a selected sample of varnish having a concentration of 10-50% at a temperature of 20-68ºC, located in a cylindrical bowl with a depth of up to 90 mm, under the influence of gravity. The measuring system consists of a rod with a stop and interchangeable indenters, namely a sphere or cone, or a perforated disk, which are wound on the lower part of the rod, depending on the viscosity of the powder varnish. The depth of immersion of the system, the mass of which is in the range from 24.8 to 51.4 g, is measured for a fixed dive time of 15 s.
EFFECT: invention provides possibility to adjust rapidly the solvent dosage directly during the process of preparation of varnishes, ensuring the stability of the output of the target powder fraction by achieving similar rheological characteristics of the varnish from operation to operation, regardless of the type of raw material.
