FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: use for providing acoustic contact at ultrasonic nondestructive testing with detachable means of flaw detection of railway rails, switch assembly elements and welded joints at negative ambient temperatures. Essence of the invention lies in the fact that thenon-alcohol-containing contact liquid for ultrasonic flaw detection contains a hard-freezing salt component, process additives and water, and additionally contains a bakelite based thickener and abrasive particles, with the following ratio of components in wt%: "Ch" acetate or potassium acetate, with subsequent purification of solution from mechanical impurities - 43-45, abrasive particles based on Bakelite - 8-12, thickener - 0.01-0.02, process additives - 1-2 and the rest is water.

EFFECT: high acoustic contact with the controlled object at low to minus 50-55°C ranges of operating temperatures and providing a friction coefficient of not less than 0_15, as well as avoiding release of harmful volatile substances during storage.
