FIELD: railway infrastructure diagnostics.
SUBSTANCE: to provide acoustic contact during ultrasonic non-destructive testing of rails, switches and welded joints by removable means of fault detection at negative ambient temperature. The essence of the invention is that the low-temperature contact liquid includes the following components, weight percentage: ethylene glycol or propylene glycol 20-40 (wt.%), ethyl cellusolve 5-10, sodium nitrite 0.2-0.5, sodium formate 0.2-0.5, synthanol or neonol 0.1-0.5, water up to 100.
EFFECT: providing reliable acoustic contact with the controlled object at low temperatures below minus 50°C, increasing stability of the physical properties of the low-temperature contact liquid (LCL) with a simplified composition, as well as the possibility of long-term storage of the contact liquid, during which all the properties and qualities are preserved.
