FIELD: radar.

SUBSTANCE: signal reflected from the target is detected; the target speed is measured by the Doppler offset of the reflected signal and by the derivative of the range. In addition, a mimic attack detector is introduced, in which the received radar signals are digitized. Next, the maximum values of the signal amplitude are selected and the received signal envelope is formed based on these values in the received signal envelope selection block. The normalized value of mean square deviation (hereinafter - MSD) of the received signal envelope is calculated, the ratio of the current and previously recorded normalized MSD is calculated, after which the calculated ratio is compared with the actuation threshold, as a result of which the fact of a mimic attack in the form of sound and light alerts is recorded. The recorded value of the normalized MSD is used for further detection of mimic attacks.

EFFECT: increased mimic resistance of over-the-horizon surface wave radar stations (OTH SW RS) operating in the decameter range of radio waves, under the influence of simulated interference that leads away in the range and speed of the target (mimic attack).
