SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine and namely to otorhinolaryngology. The invention can be used during hearing-improving operations in patients with congenital isolated anomaly of the middle ear, when the window of the vestibule is absent (aplasia) or is motionlessly closed by the foot plate of the stapes. A device for forming a neo-oval window for surgical treatment of congenital isolated anomalies of the middle ear is made of metal and is a rod with a handle at one end and a working part at the other end. The working part is a ring with an inner diameter of 3-3.5 mm. A method for treating isolated congenital anomalies of the middle ear using a device is disclosed.

EFFECT: technical result consists in reducing the impact on the structures of the inner ear, as well as eliminating damage to the atypically located facial nerve.
