FIELD: oil industry.

SUBSTANCE: proposal relates to the oil industry and is intended to extract a cable or rope from a well. The catcher of the flexible element in the well includes a housing with an adapter in the upper part and a cable clamping unit in the lower part, made in the form of a spring, while an annular recess is made in the body of the housing to fix the upper end of the spring, above which the housing is equipped with an annular stop preventing the penetration of the flexible element above the device. According to the invention, the spring is cylindrical, inside of which the lock is coaxially inserted with fixation in the housing, and the lock consists of an upper cylindrical part and a lower conical part tapering from top to bottom. The angle of narrowing of the conical part of the retainer is made less than the angle of wedging of the flexible element, and the gap between the cylindrical part of the retainer and the spring is less than the diameter of the flexible element.

EFFECT: device allows fixing the flexible element before lifting and unhook only when the permissible load on the safety device is exceeded.
