FIELD: medicine; pediatric surgery.
SUBSTANCE: 8-shaped suture is applied to the hernial orifice through four equidistant points with a capture in the suture of the aponeurosis and peritoneum. The formed four slit-like defects, two in the sagittal and frontal directions, are sutured with nodal sutures.
EFFECT: method allows one to distribute evenly the tension on the sutures, which is a favorable factor for the healing of aponeurosis, anatomical and functional adaptation of the muscular-aponeurotic layer of the umbilical area and preserving the shape of the umbilical cavity.
