FIELD: acoustics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to acoustics. A method for generating a binaural signal in response to a series of channels of a multi-channel audio input signal is to apply the binaural impulse response BRIR of the facility to each channel of the specified series, generating filtered signals as a result; and combining the filtered signals to generate a binaural signal. The BRIR application to each channel of the specified series involves the use of a late reverb generator with the application, in response to the control values entered in the late reverb generator, of the total late reverb to the reduced signal of the channels of the specified series, while the total late reverb emulates the collective macroscopic defining features of the late reverb parts of single-channel BRIRs shared on at least some channels of the series, and the reduced signal is the reduced stereo signal of the channels of the specified series.

EFFECT: technical result consists in ensuring effective externalization.
