SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an apparatus, system and method for generating an inhalable medium. The apparatus is comprised of a first receptacle configured to accommodate a first substrate in form of a solid material or gel and a second receptacle configured to accommodate a second substrate in form of a solid material or gel. The apparatus also comprises a first heater for heating the first substrate during use and a second heater for heating the second substrate during use. The apparatus also comprises a body determining a flow path passing through the first and second receptacles, wherein the flow path is determined so that the heated products produced by heating the first substrate placed in the first receptacle pass through the second receptacle during use to form an inhalable medium.

EFFECT: possibility to select the flow path and move the mouth end between the outlets corresponding with different flow paths is provided.
