SUBSTANCE aerosol generation system comprises an aerosol generation medium, a heating energy source designed for selective heating in the heating zone associated with the heating energy source, parts of the aerosol generation medium for aerosol formation, an outlet through which the aerosol can exit the device, and a selectively movable element. The said element is selectively movable relative to the aerosol generating medium to form a closed chamber around the heating zone and is communicating with the outlet. It is possible to isolate a selected part of the material forming an aerosol with a closed chamber.

EFFECT: enables selection of portions with the desired taste from a plurality of portions of the aerosol forming material.
