FIELD: chemistry and medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of chemistry and medicine, specifically to methods for purifying bischofite used as an independent pharmaceutical agent, as well as for obtaining magnesium-containing medicinal compositions. Bischofite is used in many areas of industry, mainly as a raw material for the production of metallic magnesium, in addition, it is widely used in medicine in the form of compresses, rinses, baths, ointments, solutions for electrophoresis, etc. The essence of the invention lies in the use of ion-exchange sorption on a strongly acidic cation exchanger KU 2-8 for cleaning bischofite from impurities of iron compounds. At the first stage of purification, a cation exchanger saturated with magnesium ions is prepared; for this, a 10% bischofite solution is passed through a column with resin at a rate of 1 l/h using a peristaltic pump until the cation exchanger is completely saturated with magnesium ions. At the second stage, a purified 10% bischofite solution is passed through the column prepared in the above described way using a peristaltic pump at a rate of 1 l/h. The solution passed through the column is evaporated 10 times, at the end of the evaporation it is cooled to 20-30°C and the precipitated crystals of magnesium chloride hexahydrate are filtered off from the mother liquor on a vacuum filter. The wet crystals of magnesium chloride hexahydrate are dried to constant weight in a desiccator with calcium chloride.
EFFECT: invention shortens the duration of the cleaning process, is not energy-consuming and has a high efficiency.
