SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to acoustically transparent coatings. A composition for an acoustically transparent coating for use on an acoustic substrate, a method for applying an acoustically transparent material to an acoustic substrate, a monolithic acoustic ceiling and an acoustically transparent coating on an acoustic substrate are claimed. The composition contains a binder dispersed in water and relatively large filler particles, and the filler particles are three-dimensional particles and have a particle size from 20 to 900 microns, while the composition is characterized by a high volume concentration of the pigment, which is 50-99%, and a high viscosity, which is from 5,214 to 114.55 Pa·s (from 66 to 1450 BBU (Brabender units)) at room temperature.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain a composition of an acoustically transparent coating with a high shear thinning index, such that the viscosity decreases under shear conditions in a ratio of at least 10 to 1, and fast drying, such that the formulation is dry to the touch within 30 minutes when applied at a rate of one quarter gallon per 25 square feet (0.408 L / m) in an environment with a temperature of 75°F (23,89°С), which makes it possible to spray the composition with drops that retain their identity when in contact with each other.
