FIELD: chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for modifying polypropylene. This method involves introducing branched polysulfone into polypropylene in the presence of bismaleimide, followed by extrusion in the temperature range 200-290°С. The branched polysulfone is obtained by polycondensation of 4,4'-dichlorodiphenylsulfone with bisphenol in the presence of phenolphthalein at the following ratio of polypropylene to polysulfone: polypropylene 95-98 wt%; branched polysulfone 2-5% by weight. 4,4'-dioxy-2,2-diphenylpropane, or 4,4'-dioxydiphenylsulfone, or 4,4'-dioxydiphenyl ketone, or 4,4'-dioxydiphenyl is used as bisphenol.
EFFECT: development of a method for modifying polypropylene and improving performance characteristics of polypropylene for household and industrial use (increasing heat resistance, resistance to aggressive media and to osmotic penetration of the solvent (swelling)).
