Presented are: a composition for stimulating the mucosal immune system of the intestine, characterized in that the composition includes an effective amount of the culture supernatant of the probiotic bacteria Lactobacillus paracasei BBA L74, having international deposit number LMG P-24778, and a physiologically acceptable carrier; a method for modulating the mucosal immune system of the intestine in a subject, characterized in that this method includes: identification of a subject in need of immune system modulation; and administration of an effective amount of the culture supernatant of the probiotic bacteria Lactobacillus paracasei BBA L74, having the international deposit number LMG P-24778; a nutritional kit for stimulating the mucosal immune system of the intestine, including an effective amount of the culture supernatant of the probiotic bacteria Lactobacillus paracasei BBA L74, having international deposit number LMG P-24778, and packaging material and/or an insert in the package containing instructions for use.
