FIELD: welding works.

SUBSTANCE: invention is used for visual and measuring non-destructive quality control of the welded joint. The control of the welded joint, mainly obtained by the friction-mixing welding method, is carried out by moving in an automated way a device equipped with means of visual and measuring non-destructive control relatively to the zone of the finished welded joint. A device containing a scanner equipped with a system of its positioning relatively to the welded joint with five degrees of freedom and means of visual and measuring control installed on the scanner is used to control the joint. Its movement relatively to the mentioned zone is carried out with a number of degrees depending on the spatial configuration of the welded joint. In the process of movement, laser scanning of the front surface of the welded joint zone is carried out by a source of low-power laser beam, illumination of the said zone is provided by at least two light sources and high-speed shooting is performed by two high-resolution cameras to obtain an image of the scanned zone and control its reflectivity. The resulting image is digitally processed to evaluate the geometric and optical parameters of the resulting welded joint, form a graphical construction of the results and compare them with the reference values.

EFFECT: providing possibility of implementing a universal and simple method that allows controlling the welded joints obtained by friction-mixing welding of any thickness and spatial configuration.
