FIELD: smelting.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device and a method for top-blown nickel smelting. The device consists of a furnace formed by side walls, end walls, a furnace bottom and a furnace roof, a lance entering the melting zone through a lance window, and an electrode entering the depletion zone through an electrode window. There is a partition in the middle of the furnace roof. The partition extends into the furnace and divides the furnace into a melting zone and a depletion zone, communicating with each other. A method for continuous top-blown nickel smelting is disclosed.
EFFECT: reduced energy consumption, possibility of adapting the process of smelting in suspension to raw materials, shortening the technological scheme of smelting in a melt bath, expanding the possibility of overcoming accidents, continuous supply and periodic discharge, and increased efficiency of slag depletion.
