SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of measuring equipment and can be used for monitoring the ice channel (measuring the parameters of the ice cover) from the board of the icebreaker. The device for tracking the ice situation from the icebreaker has an IP television camera installed on a turning platform along one of the sides of the icebreaker, the output from which is connected through a switch to a network video recorder connected to the video signal processing unit, and a laptop, on the monitor of which the measurement results are displayed. This processing unit contains a module for measuring ice thickness, and the output of the processing unit is connected to a laptop via a Wi-Fi access point.

EFFECT: increasing the reliability and efficiency of measurements, as well as increasing the information content both due to the continuity of measurements of the thickness of ice floes, and due to the use of the module for measuring the width of the ice channel.
