Creation of an onboard automated information-measuring system will make it possible to automatically obtain complex information on hydrometeorological, ice and navigation conditions in the area of the ship location, and also will make it possible to perform more accurate measurements of ice and snow thickness. Measuring unit includes a scanning laser range finder (lidar).

EFFECT: automatic acquisition of complex information on hydrometeorological, ice and navigation conditions in the area of location of the ship and high accuracy of measuring thickness of ice and snow.
